On the way back, they headed to Peace Arch Park in White Rock – to participate in the resurrected Hands Across the Border. It was a frenzy of trading and connecting with Guides and Scouts from both sides of the border. It's a pretty addictive pastime, so don't be surprised if your daughter wants to make small trader crafts over the summer!
It was a sunny and fun-filled weekend for the campers and leaders. The bus took them to Camp McLanlin in Abbotsford, where they stayed in the aptly-named Camelot campsite. The girls prepared their own meals, using a variety of traditional outdoor techniques like campfires, camp stoves, and dutch ovens. The Medieval theme saw the "ladies of the round table" doing archery and jousting, among other activities (such as an old-fashioned water fight?).
