Girls love to do archery at camp!! Sparks to Pathfinders, everyone had a turn.
Registration for September opens on April 1st for girls returning to the same unit.
Effective April 1st, the registration fee is increasing by $10 - to a total of $105. This reflects the increased National membership fee, allowing Girl Guides of Canada to sustain the organization, ensure a financially healthy future, and fulfill our commitment to a strong and growing organization for girls. Our fees continue to provide excellent value to families, and allow us to offer an incredible range of experiences for girls and women. Registration is completed online through the national website: girlguides.ca Your daughters are all home from camp and full of stories! We had a spectacular weekend, thanks to great weather, fun activities, and tasty food. Sparks, Brownies, Guides, and Pathfinders did archery, made crafts, read books, created items for Meals on Wheels, painted tiles to put in the Enchanted Forest, and much more. They walked in the sunshine, saw eagles flying overhead, and dazzled the other ferrygoers with their energy and bright toques.
Thank you for sending your daughter to camp. It's a valuable opportunity to develop her social skills, camping abilities, and budding independence. Plus we all had a lot of fun! The leaders were dressed in themed costumes, from Thing 1 and Thing 2 to the Cat in the Hat and Sam I Am. The only hard part was packing up and leaving after the clock change. Hopefully there was time to rest and wash on Sunday! The weather forecast is good for camp - mainly sunny and warm! It still gets cold at night, so bring a warm jacket and your trefoil toque. We'll be doing a campfire - but staying inside - and older girls will probably do night games. Dress appropriately.
We are celebrating literacy at camp. Please bring a new or gently used children's book to donate. If you have anything with Dr. Seuss characters, feel free to pack it and wear it at camp. Don't forget a tasty - and nut-free - bag dinner for the ferry. Plus a water bottle. See you all at 3:30 pm to load up our gear and drive to the ferry!! |
