After dropping off our gear, everyone headed up the ramp to watch an OMNIMAX movie about humpback whales. Did you know that Science World has the world’s largest dome screen: 5 storeys high and 27 metres in diameter?! This wrap-around screen, plus giant speakers, put us in the middle of the underwater action – with Pacific humpbacks raising their calves, migrating, and feeding using cooperative bubble nets.
All that virtual swimming honed our appetites, ready for a snack of granola bars, apples, and juice. Then it was time to explore, play, and discover in the galleries – with the extra challenge of a new scavenger hunt.
