This was a great chance for the Guides to have fun, get creative, learn new skills, and find out about challenges faced by children in other countries.
Last week, a special visitor came to the 43rd Guides meeting. A former Guiding member, Ava has started a non-profit foundation - Innocence Lost Foundation (http://innocencelostfoundation.com/) - with the goal of helping rehabilitate child soldiers in Africa. One of her fundraising campaigns involves selling handmade jewelry. At the meeting, Ava taught the girls how to make jewelry. Each girl made a bracelet to keep and one to donate. At the end of the night, the girls donated 32 beautiful bracelets in total!
