How do I register my child?
Registration for Girl Guides is online: https://www.girlguides.ca
You can return to the same unit in May, move to another unit later in May, or join for the first time in June. When you complete online registration, you pay by credit card and receive a receipt by e-mail. If you cannot pay by credit card, please contact the national office: [email protected]
What fees do we need to pay?
The annual registration fee is $125. These funds go to support Guiding at the National, Provincial, and local levels.
Each unit may also ask for dues, which go directly toward buying craft supplies, badges, and other items.
When the unit organizes events like sleepovers and camps, you may be asked for an event fee to cover the costs.
How do we get a uniform?
Uniforms must be ordered from the online Girl Guide Store: http://www.thegirlguidestore.ca/
You will need to set up an account. The shipping cost can be reduced by pooling your order with other families in the unit. Required uniform is the t-shirt for all members. The scarf and badge sash are optional.
Why does my child have to sell cookies?
Girl Guide cookies are the main source of revenue to cover our programs. We sell chocolatey mint cookies in the fall and classic chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies in the spring. All members are required to take part in cookie sales. Through selling cookies, youth develop important skills - such as communication, planning, problem-solving, money management, courtesy and resilience.
