"I have been in Girl Guides since I was six and have made so many great memories throughout the years. The leaders were always so friendly and welcoming and I have made friendships that will probably last a lifetime. Camp memories were some of the best. Late night giggling, fun activities and plenty of treats have rounded my camp memories out into a jumble of fun. Unit meetings are also so much fun. I love how every meeting we work on a different badge! I still remember prancing around the toadstool in Brownies. Sigh... memories. I hope to continue Guiding until I am at a ripe old age but if I ever stop Guiding, I will have my amazing memories to keep me warm." (S.T)
"I love Guiding because it is a place where I can be myself without being judged. It helps me learn good skills in camping and friendships. We get a lot of opportunities in Guiding for an example because of Guiding I got to go to SOAR last year and that was a great experience. We get to go to lots of fun camps like District Camp and Holidaze. We do crafts and learn about different parts of the world. I love Guiding because I am able to be creative and unique." (G.B.)
"I like Girl Guides because there are camps and badges. In camps, there are a lot of activities. Also, you get to hang out with your girl guide buddies from day to night. For badges, when I finish them, I get a feeling that I have accomplished something big. This is what I like about Girl Guides." (J.L.)
"I love Girl Guides because there are many things that Guides do that most other programs don't, such as camping. At our unit earning a badge is mostly just pure fun. We get to do many activities like cooking, going outside (in the spring), dancing, skits, drawing, selling cookies and many other things. We get to socialize with our friends at the beginning of the meeting which is fun. Most of all I love that it is only for girls!" (M.B.)
"I love Girl Guides because you get to meet your friends and do fun activities with your Leaders. You also go to these fun camps and meet new friends. On the Girl Guide meets, you meet your friends and develop stronger relationships. You can do cool badges that interest you and learn more about it! Some badges might be a challenge for you. You also learn fun campfire songs and become more responsible. These are some reasons why I love Girl Guides." (S.P.)
"There are many reasons why I love Girl Guides, the first of which are the memories and stories I come home with and am able to share with my family. My personal favourite activity at camp is singing songs around the campfire with all the new and old friends I have made over the years that I have spent at Girl Guides. During the craft units at Girl Guides, I really bond with others and feel that I don't have to worry about anything besides what I am currently doing, and it helps me relax and put away my other fears for the moment. The last large reason why I love Girl Guides is the exercise and fresh air I get out of it when working on badges, and camping with others. All in all I love Girl Guides and I am excited to experience more things in the future years with the Pathfinders!" (D.W.)
