At the beginning of April, we held a sunny Shoreline Cleanup at Acadia Beach (west of Spanish Banks). It was a beautiful day and about 80-90 people joined the effort. We managed to clear more than 75 pounds of trash and recycling off the nearby beach!
Surprisingly, this beach had a lot less general trash - possibly due to the rocky shoreline and narrow beach. But we picked up more construction waste including rusted sheet metal and pipes. Passersby - and their dogs - checked out all the good efforts made by girls and their families. We also sold cookies to mark National Cookie Days in Canada.
Thanks to everyone who participated! Your guiders now have Cookie Days crests and beautiful new Shoreline Cleanup crests as well - look for them in the fall.
